Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Assistant role is onsite in Carrollton, TX; compensation is $16.50 per hour. Operation Kindness Humane Society says it assists animals in need of veterinary care, companionship, and homes; this position reports to the Patient Care Manager. The assistant helps maintain safe, clean animal and medical areas and supports daily care for cats and dogs receiving treatment. The role also assists veterinary technicians with procedures and check-in and check-out, while helping ensure animals are fed, monitored, and secure.

What you'll do

• Observe animals and report signs of illness or distress
• maintain and sanitize animal areas
• assist veterinary technicians with surgery preparation, check-in and check-out, vaccinations, medications, and medical procedure logging
• provide feeding and directed baths or dips
• complete shelter closing security checks
• report suspected abuse or neglect and unsafe conditions.
