What you'll do

• Operates the imaging equipment and produces radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
• Assists the radiologist or physician to perform both diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection and specialized techniques unique to the Special Procedures environment.
• Assists with all procedures performed in the Interventional Suite.
• Demonstrates proficiency with all equipment within the Interventional Suite procedure room including but not limited to: Fluoro, Pan Table, Med Rad injector, Monitors, Ultrasound Unit, Control panels for digital acquisition and image transfer.
• Demonstrates sterile technique as appropriate and maintains sterile field while performing scrub position.
• Prepares patient and room for exams while managing wires and other multiple components required for procedure.
• Performs role of circulator during procedure including: Pull supplies, altering technique as phase of exam requires, Man and operate injector, Communicate to patients family/unit progress, and Answer physician calls/pages during procedure.
• Provides patient care throughout procedure while explaining the procedure to patient and ensure understanding.
• Pulls Sheath and holds pressure to manage puncture/access site.
• Maintains par level of supplies, completing special order requests as needed.
• Ensures compliance to established Conscious Sedation policy and procedure.
