Security Officer

Job overview

The Security Officer role is onsite in Chicago, IL, with pay of $24–$27 per hour. Misericordia is a residential community for more than 600 children and adults with developmental disabilities, and security staff help protect residents, families, and employees. The officer maintains campus safety, responds to radio, phone, and direct requests, follows security procedures, and uses sound judgment in routine and emergency situations. The role requires at least two years of security experience, a valid PERC card, a driver’s license, and a 20-hour basic security training certificate.

• Establish and maintain campus safety

• complete tasks under security policies and procedures
• follow instructions promptly
• make reasonable independent decisions
• formulate courses of action in emergencies
• communicate professionally with residents, families, coworkers, and other professionals.
