Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist

The Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist role is onsite in Mauston, WI. Compensation is not specified. The position works under the supervision of the Assistant Laboratory Director and Laboratory Director, performing tests and procedures requested by medical staff. The schedule is PRN, as needed, with at least one shift every 12 weeks. The role produces and reviews laboratory results that support clinical decisions and patient care. It maintains quality control, equipment, documentation, and section readiness while assisting laboratory colleagues and training staff or students.

What you'll do

• Perform laboratory tests in hematology, coagulation, chemistry, blood gas, serology, blood bank, and microbiology
• maintain section supplies and analyzers
• conduct maintenance, validations, calibration, and quality-control work
• review and report results
• call critical results to physicians or nurses
• investigate failed proficiency results
• support specimen collection and processing
• and provide instruction and in-service training. ASCP certification or equivalent is required or must be obtained within one year of hire.
