The School-Age Program Floating Teacher role is onsite in Portland, OR, and compensation is $22.50 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friendly House connects people of all ages and backgrounds through educational, recreational, and other life-sustaining services. This teacher provides classroom coverage and support across the school-age program, helping maintain safe, nurturing classrooms and continuity for children. The role supports curriculum activities, staffing coverage, and children’s health, safety, and development.

What you'll do

• Support After School classrooms and the kitchen
• cover for absent teachers and assistant teachers
• assist with weekly curriculum
• provide one-to-one support when needed and ratios allow
• maintain safe, clean, and organized classroom spaces
• supervise children and maintain required staff-to-student ratios
• report incidents and safety hazards
• complete required training and records.
