CNC Machinist

The CNC Machinist role is onsite in Chesaning, MI. Pay is $20–$33 per hour, based on skills and experience. Big Rock Machining produces precision CNC-machined parts for industries including aerospace and defense. The machinist operates assigned CNC equipment and follows drawings and work instructions to produce and inspect parts accurately. Depending on experience, the role may include independent setup, programming, troubleshooting, and support for developing machinists, contributing to safe, timely, quality production.

What you'll do

• Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other assigned equipment at the level supported by training
• follow drawings, job travelers, setup sheets, and work instructions
• inspect parts with measuring tools
• monitor production and complete records
• maintain a clean and safe work area. Experienced machinists set up tooling and fixtures, develop or improve Mastercam toolpaths and programs, inspect close-tolerance work, troubleshoot issues, and help developing machinists learn.

Why this role

Entry-level and experienced candidates welcome; CNC experience is not required for entry-level candidates with mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. First shift, Monday through Thursday, 40 hours per week.
