Maintenance Technician

Job overview

The Maintenance Technician role is onsite in Roanoke, VA, at Canteen’s 1231 Rockland Avenue location. Compensation is $19.00–$21.00 per hour. Canteen provides food, service, and workplace solutions including markets, office coffee and snacks, unattended retail, and culinary services. The technician performs skilled facility maintenance and supports reliable building operations through repairs, inspections, work orders, and preventive maintenance recommendations. The role also provides field leadership, quality assurance, training support, and escalation management.

What you'll do

• Assist with decisions on repairs and report major problems
• construct, install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems
• service and diagnose HVAC and other building systems with appropriate training and credentials
• lead workers on projects
• teach advanced maintenance skills
• review vendor work and prepare punch lists
• analyze and correct building system problems
• maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete work orders, tests, and inspections
• recommend preventive maintenance improvements
• serve on the facility emergency response team.
