Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Waterloo, IA. Pay is $14.95–$19.55 per hour. The position reports to a Program Manager and supports Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa’s program participants. The professional helps participants pursue goals and desired outcomes based on their preferences, needs, interests, and strengths. The role supports informed choices, self-advocacy, community access, and coordinated services through ongoing assessment, transportation, documentation, and crisis intervention when needed.

What you'll do

• Help participants develop strategies, make informed choices, and follow through on responsibilities
• support programming based on participant preferences, needs, interests, and strengths
• share information about community resources and encourage self-advocacy
• drive participants to appointments and activities
• assess needs and capabilities
• maintain timely and accurate documentation
• provide crisis intervention as needed and contact support systems
• maintain professional and ethical relationships.
