What you'll do
- Performing x-ray and CT exams in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures. Demonstrating knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, specialized techniques and adhering to all Corporate Radiation Right policies. Producing scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups. Following established scanning and viewing protocols. Operating CT scanner (any models) and related equipment efficiently and effectively. Completing quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards. Demonstrating proficiency in scanning trauma, acute and challenging patients
- possessing skills to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed. Demonstrating knowledge of disease processes and producing studies that optimally identify related anatomy. Demonstrating competence in using the power injector
- verbalizing limits of use. Scanning patients of all ages, tailoring exam to the age/size/weight/special needs of patients. Completing the required documentation on forms, logs, workstation and Meditech. Assisting the Radiologist during invasive procedures, demonstrating knowledge of supplies required and ensuring availability. Ensuring CT and department equipment is functioning properly.
What we're looking for
- Education
- Associate's Degree; Graduate from an accredited approved program in Radiologic Technology; Completion of courses in computed tomography (CT) and cross-sectional anatomy
- Experience
- 1 year experience as a Radiology Technologist in an acute care setting; One year experience performing CT procedures
