Field Supervisor

The Field Supervisor role is onsite in Rockford, IL. Compensation is $37–$40 per hour. Zūm provides a connected mobility system for student transportation and works with schools to support reliable transportation experiences for students and families. The supervisor provides field-based safety oversight and operational support for transportation routes. Through route observations, driver coaching, compliance checks, and incident response, the role helps ensure safe and efficient student transportation.

What you'll do

• Conduct daily ride-alongs, route observations, and morning and afternoon stop audits
• monitor on-time performance and identify operational inefficiencies
• verify student loading and unloading procedures
• perform random Department of Transportation compliance checks
• inspect documentation, vehicle procedures, cleanliness, seat belt use, and emergency readiness
• coach drivers and document feedback
• support new-driver route training
• assist with safety meetings and recertifications
• respond to road calls, breakdowns, and accidents
• prepare incident reports and communicate with school districts and company leadership
• monitor bus yard readiness, fueling, and staging.

Why this role

Requires a Class B commercial driver’s license with Passenger and School Bus endorsements and a current Department of Transportation medical certificate; requires at least two years of relevant safety, school bus, or dispatch experience.
