Communications Operator I

What you'll do

• Receive 911 calls and dispatch police units
• transmit radio messages
• forward calls to the appropriate emergency services agency
• log complaint and officer activity
• monitor and dispatch alarm calls
• maintain NCIC communications and related warrant information
• operate computer-assisted dispatch software
• check on officers
• assist the public and, as needed, train new operators.
