Job overview

The Senior Counter-WMD Research Analyst – Farsi role is onsite in Reston, VA. The annual salary range is $100,000–$170,000. The analyst supports the Capabilities, Analysis and Development division of Applied Research Associates with research and development of data products for countering weapons of mass destruction. The role analyzes Farsi-language and other sources, applies linguistic and regional context, and develops findings and recommendations for government clients. Its research and reporting help improve client understanding of weapons of mass destruction, improvised threats, and counter-proliferation networks.

What you'll do

• Analyze data for research and development assessments
• collaborate with data scientists and analysts on client reports
• research online materials and resolve information gaps
• deliver products that improve client situational understanding
• recommend further research
• present findings to government staff
• conduct Farsi-language research
• compare Farsi reporting with English and other sources
• identify translation issues and interpret technical, organizational, and context-dependent language.
