Associate Tax Consultant

Job overview

The Associate Tax Consultant role is hybrid, with up to 50% work from home, and is based in Prairie du Sac, WI or Sun Prairie, WI. Base pay is $57,900–$82,100 per year. Compeer Financial provides financial services supporting agriculture and rural communities. The role supports clients and the Tax and Accounting team through tax preparation, planning, consulting, and accounting services. Working under a Senior Tax Consultant’s direct mentorship, the consultant maintains client relationships, prepares returns and estimates, processes accounting transactions, and helps deliver timely financial information and tax support.

What you'll do

• Prepare income tax returns and tax estimates
• research and present tax-planning opportunities under Senior Tax Consultant guidance
• maintain a portfolio of tax clients
• support transition meetings and mentor tax interns during tax season
• process accounting transactions and prepare financial statements
• handle less complex accounts, including depreciation and payroll
• assist clients and team members with accounting questions
• participate in client visits, community events, and educational programs
• market and cross-sell company services
• some travel is required for on-farm services, department meetings, and continuing education.
