Construction Project Accountant

The Construction Project Accountant role is onsite in Upper Marlboro, MD. Compensation is not specified. The position supports Corenic Construction Group’s Accounting and Operations team, serving as a liaison between accounting and project management for construction jobs. The role helps keep project financial activity accurate and timely by coordinating billing, payables, receivables, payroll entry, reconciliations, and job-cost review. It also supports internal controls, compliance, process improvements, and year-end audit requests.

What you'll do

• Coordinate with Project Managers on contract documents, change orders, approvals, and Owner and vendor billing
• enter bi-weekly payroll into the ERP
• support client billing and ensure project costs are covered
• process project accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts
• research discrepancies
• maintain internal controls and compliance
• analyze job-cost reports and work with project teams on corrective action when needed
• recommend agreed process improvements
• reconcile monthly bank and vendor statements
• support year-end auditor requests
• coordinate with other departments and complete assigned duties.
