Software Engineer

The Software Engineer role is onsite in Bend, OR, with regular presence at shelter sites. Compensation is $72,000–$82,800 per year. The engineer builds and maintains ShelterOps, technology that supports Shepherd’s House Ministries staff in serving guests and advancing its work to feed the hungry, shelter people experiencing homelessness, and provide supportive services.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain ShelterOps features across databases, APIs, user interfaces, and tests
• pair with the Head of Technology on design, implementation, and review
• submit work for review and follow automated checks
• use AI coding tools with human review
• observe staff at shelter sites and translate findings into software improvements
• support data quality and reporting
• respond to production issues
• maintain documentation and protect participant data.
