Optometric Technician – Eyezone West

Job overview

The Optometric Technician works onsite in Reno, Nevada. Pay is $15–$18 per hour. The role supports an optometrist with eye examinations and patient eye care at Eyezone West. The technician prepares patients and records their vision and medical histories, performs pre-testing and other tests, and guides patients through the clinical experience. The role also supports contact lens education, patient flow, documentation, and other office operations.

What you'll do

• Prepare patients for examinations by gathering vision and medical history and documenting information
• use clinical instruments to take measurements and administer tests
• perform contact lens insertion and teach insertion and removal
• order contact lenses and manage trial inventory
• administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications
• scribe and translate as needed
• support patient flow
• assist with phones, insurance verification, check-in, chart scanning, and office cleanliness
• perform assigned therapy exercises or procedures under the optometrist’s direction.
