Prototype Technician / Automotive Assembly

The Prototype Technician / Automotive Assembly role is onsite in Saline, MI; compensation is not specified. The position supports current and future major model builds for MSR Technology Group. The technician leads a production station and helps deliver complete vehicle builds and model-change retrofits. The role coordinates issues between the assembly line and project lead, evaluates vehicle quality, and improves internal processes to support reliable build outcomes.

What you'll do

• Create operating plans and training materials
• lead and train a team of 4–6 production team members while ensuring quality
• assemble vehicles from shell body through final assembly and inspection
• disassemble and retrofit vehicles for minor model changes
• document, track, and close issues
• evaluate wire harness routing, serviceability, and water leaks using Toyota standards
• standardize processes and propose continuous improvements.

Why this role

Requires five years of hands-on automotive assembly experience or a combination of assembly experience and advanced technical training, plus 1–2 years of team-level leadership experience. Basic CATIA or other CAD experience is preferred.
