Maintenance Worker

The Maintenance Worker is an onsite, part-time position in Watertown, NY. Compensation is $20.50 per hour. The role supports the Children’s Home of Jefferson by maintaining its grounds, buildings, and equipment in safe, clean, and operable condition. Working with direction from the Facilities Director, the Maintenance Worker handles general repairs and custodial work, inspects facility systems, records maintenance activity, and helps coordinate projects so the organization’s spaces remain functional and safe for service recipients, staff, and visitors.

What you'll do

• Maintain grounds through mowing, snow removal, sanding, and landscaping
• perform building maintenance including painting, cleaning, and general repairs
• perform general carpentry, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, electrical, and appliance repairs
• assist with organizational projects
• inspect fire extinguishers and boilers
• diagnose maintenance issues and coordinate work with the Facilities Director
• keep maintenance records
• clean and sanitize workspaces and common areas
• empty waste and recycling, restock supplies, maintain cleaning inventory and equipment, and report issues through the maintenance ticket system.
