What you'll do

• Perform conceptual, preliminary, and final design calculations for transmission, distribution, and substation steel structures
• design and interpret drawings
• develop preliminary designs and weight takeoffs
• use PLS-POLE, STAAD.Pro, and other engineering tools
• ensure compliance with customer specifications, codes, standards, and quality requirements
• identify technical risks and design concerns
• coordinate schedules, calculations, drawings, revisions, and documentation
• collaborate with project management, detailing, estimating, sales, production, and quality
• answer technical questions
• communicate with customers
• review designs for accuracy, constructability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness
• recommend design or process improvements.
