The Registered Nurse (RN), Charge Nurse, Medical-Surgical role is onsite in Alamosa, CO, with compensation of $34.51–$48.18 per hour. The position supports San Luis Valley Health’s Medical-Surgical department. The charge nurse directs and supervises nursing staff to deliver care within their scope of practice and applicable standards. The role also supports regulatory compliance, patient satisfaction, performance improvement, and communication between nursing leadership and staff.

What you'll do

• Implement and evaluate nursing care delivery according to accepted nursing and hospital standards
• provide feedback on policies and procedures and enforce them
• participate in monthly environment-of-care rounds during night shift
• assist nursing leadership with charge nurse duties
• support Medical-Surgical unit regulatory compliance
• attend assigned committee meetings and relay information to staff
• contribute to performance improvement and patient safety initiatives, including managing at least one PDSA
• support patient satisfaction initiatives.
