What you'll do

• Monitor and control courthouse entry
• maintain security and order in courtrooms
• serve civil processes issued by courts and other authorized parties in accordance with Virginia law and office policies. Deputy Sheriff II/III duties include opening and closing courtrooms, assisting junior deputies in difficult or hazardous situations as instructed, assuming shift/unit command when applicable, ensuring calls for service are handled promptly, and serving in a specialty area as needed.
