Shelter Coordinator — Day Shift

The Shelter Coordinator role is onsite in Seattle, WA, with compensation of $32.72–$36.12 per hour. The position supports DESC’s West Wing Shelter, which provides low-barrier emergency shelter and survival services for people experiencing homelessness. The listed day shift is 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with Wednesday and Thursday off. The coordinator manages day-to-day shelter operations, supports client safety and crisis response, connects clients with services, and works with staff and community providers. The role contributes to DESC’s work addressing homelessness and complex behavioral health and medical needs.

What you'll do

• Maintain and communicate shelter rules
• intervene in medical, mental health, and interpersonal crises
• monitor shelter areas for safety
• consult with staff and outside agencies
• provide service information and referrals
• support volunteers and providers
• assist with food service
• register clients and document services
• maintain supplies and cleanliness
• support shift transitions
• respond to behaviors around the shelter when needed.
