General Maintenance Worker

The General Maintenance Worker role is onsite in Hobbs, NM, with compensation of $20.07–$21.73 per hour. The position reports to the Associate Vice President for Operations & Special Projects at New Mexico Junior College and supports maintenance of campus buildings, facilities, fixtures, systems, and equipment. Under direct supervision, the worker performs semi-skilled preventive maintenance, repairs, and alterations that help keep campus facilities and equipment safe and operational. The role assists tradespeople and addresses maintenance needs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and related work.

What you'll do

• Assist tradespeople with campus maintenance and repairs
• troubleshoot and repair access-control and security-camera components
• assist with minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs
• perform carpentry, painting, and general construction tasks
• maintain tools and equipment
• inspect facilities and perform preventive maintenance
• support furniture and room setup and other assigned campus duties.
