The Direct Care Worker — Mentoring Specialist role is onsite in Baker, LA, with pay of $17–$19 per hour. Timothy Hill’s residential program provides a safe, home-like setting for at-risk youth ages 13–17 and supports their education, vocational training, life skills, and community transition. The specialist provides consistent supervision and mentorship in daily routines, supports youth through behavioral and emotional challenges, and responds to crises while maintaining a structured, nurturing environment. The role helps residents build life skills, resilience, confidence, and hope for their future.

What you'll do

• Supervise and mentor youth during daily routines, chores, and activities
• help create a safe, home-like environment
• model positive social skills and emotional regulation
• assist with meals and family routines
• use de-escalation and trauma-informed strategies
• support individualized care plans
• respond to campus crises and perform TCI protective interventions when necessary
• report urgent concerns
• maintain logs and incident and medication documentation
• dispense medications as trained
• attend meetings, trainings, and case reviews
• communicate with leadership and team members.
