Behavior Interventionist

The Behavior Interventionist role is onsite in Kansas City, MO. Compensation is $45,000–$50,000 per year. United Inner City Services provides direct services to preschool children to support developmental milestones in self-regulation and social-emotional development. The interventionist works with children, families, teachers, and interdisciplinary partners to address challenging behaviors and barriers to learning and school readiness. The role develops and delivers interventions, parent coaching, and staff training, and contributes observations and program data to support evaluation and grant reporting.

What you'll do

• Partner with education staff, families, and community providers to implement social-emotional education
• develop individual, classroom, and small-group interventions
• provide parent coaching and programming
• consult with teachers and interdisciplinary staff
• assess needs and evaluation tools
• provide observations, analysis, and reports
• deliver direct services
• assist with grant reporting and data collection and analysis
• develop and present staff trainings
• attend required meetings and training.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of experience working with children ages 3–5 in at-risk situations; a master’s degree is preferred. Knowledge of Conscious Discipline and trauma-informed care is required.
