The Senior Transportation Quality Assurance Engineer is a full-time position based in Detroit, MI, supporting roadway and transportation infrastructure projects across the Detroit Metro region and surrounding markets. Compensation is $58–$71 per hour. The Mannik & Smith Group provides engineering, environmental, planning, surveying, and construction-support services. The engineer reviews transportation project deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance across roadway, bridge, and structural work. The role supports project execution through technical review, quality procedures, and mentorship of junior engineering staff.

What you'll do

• Review transportation plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, and design deliverables for compliance with standards and project requirements
• ensure projects meet MDOT, local agency, and industry standards
• perform final engineering reviews and provide PE-level plan review and sign-off support
• collaborate with technical staff and project managers
• improve QA/QC procedures
• mentor junior engineers.

Why this role
