The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator role is onsite at a base chapel in Warner Robins, GA. Compensation is not specified. The coordinator supports the Air Force Base Roman Catholic Community and its Our Lady of the Skies Catholic Parish Religious Education Program. The coordinator plans and supports religious education for children, teens, and adults, including sacramental preparation, retreats, and workshops. The role recruits and trains volunteers and teachers, coordinates with the Roman Catholic Chaplain, and manages program resources, communications, and required safeguarding processes.

What you'll do

  • Support sacramental services, receptions, RCIA, retreats, and workshops
  • recruit, train, and assign teachers, staff, helpers, substitutes, and students
  • plan an annual religious education calendar and budget for grades K–8 and high school
  • publicize activities
  • attend chapel and advisory meetings
  • coordinate with the Roman Catholic Chaplain
  • manage library and curriculum resources
  • submit volunteer background checks
  • provide VIRTUS training
  • and coordinate classroom space and facility setup.

Why this role

Work hours are Monday through Friday during posted business hours and 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Sundays from August through May; during the June–July hiatus, all 15 hours are Monday through Friday. Travel may be required. The posting requires a bachelor’s degree, six years of relevant military-installation program experience, and specified Catholic standing and security checks.
