The CDL A Trainee role is an onsite position based in Saint Louis, MO, offering a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year. This role supports the McLane Company, Inc. distribution team, which has been a leader in supply chain services for over 130 years. The purpose of this role is to provide hands-on training and coaching to prepare individuals for a full-time Driver position. Trainees work alongside experienced trainers to learn safe vehicle operation, equipment inspection, delivery documentation, and customer service protocols to ensure the efficient transport of goods.

What you'll do

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
• Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Operates Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH), document delivery receipts/product temperatures and exceptions.
• Rides and trains with Driver Trainer to gain knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Assists the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product into customer premises.
• Provides customer service including on-time delivery of undamaged product.
