Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician role is onsite in Madison, SD, with compensation of $31–$37 per hour. The position supports East River Electric Power Cooperative’s facilities, helping keep buildings, grounds, and systems safe and reliable for the cooperative’s work providing wholesale power to its members. The technician maintains and troubleshoots mechanical and building systems, completes preventive maintenance, and handles a range of indoor and outdoor repair projects. Accurate records, materials coordination, and collaboration with employees and vendors help keep facilities ready to support the cooperative’s operations.

What you'll do

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical and building systems
• complete remodeling, drywall, finish carpentry, flooring, ceiling tile, door, and window projects
• conduct inspections and preventive maintenance
• maintain records, blueprints, and schematics
• ensure equipment and supplies are available and purchase materials within guidelines
• use tools and equipment including carpentry tools, volt/ohm meters, and pressure gauges
• build working relationships with employees, vendors, and maintenance partners
• prioritize safety.
