Visual Impairment Teacher

Job overview

The Visual Impairment Teacher works onsite in Cordele, GA, for $50–$60 per hour. The role joins Pediatric Developmental Services staff working in a school; PDS supports public school districts, charter schools, and communities with qualified teachers and pediatric therapists. The teacher develops and delivers individualized instruction to help students make educational progress. The role supports student learning and well-being through individualized education plans, family and staff communication, progress reporting, and a safe classroom environment.

What you'll do

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans
• communicate with staff and family members about student progress and challenges
• prepare lesson plans for administrator approval
• participate in scheduled IEP meetings
• use individualized reinforcement techniques
• invite family participation
• prepare quarterly progress reports
• consult with on-site therapists about student behavioral and disciplinary issues
• maintain a safe, productive classroom.
