The position supports the Internal Medicine team at Memphis Veterinary Specialists & Emergency, a specialty and emergency hospital providing advanced veterinary care and 24/7 emergency services. The assistant supports veterinarians and technicians in delivering patient care by handling and comforting animals, assisting with treatments and procedures, maintaining equipment and records, and communicating with clients. The schedule is full-time on weekdays, with rotating weekend treatments and on-call duties.

What you'll do

• Care for and handle patients
• greet clients and patients and record weights and vital signs
• assist with triage, examinations, treatments, medication administration, and restraint as directed
• perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• operate and maintain hospital equipment
• fill prescriptions and document controlled medications
• feed, bathe, and groom patients
• maintain accurate medical records
• communicate with clients
• clean and maintain the hospital and equipment
• follow safety regulations.
