Residential Support Specialist, REACH

The Residential Support Specialist, REACH role is onsite in Chicago, IL. Compensation is $22.30–$24.60 per hour, or $46,384–$51,168 annually. The role supports Thresholds’ residential program for young people ages 16–21 experiencing mental health challenges. The specialist coaches residents in independent-living skills, relationships, school success, wellness, and coping strategies while helping maintain a safe and welcoming home. The role also documents residents’ experiences and supports their transition to adulthood.

What you'll do

• Work one-on-one and in groups with youth
• teach independent-living skills such as hygiene, housekeeping, and meal preparation
• coach relationship-building and coping skills
• support emotional regulation and safety using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention skills
• clean the residence
• document experiences, medication-management progress, and recovery
• support residents’ transition to adulthood.

Why this role

Scheduled Saturday–Wednesday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training is provided and required. Eligibility requires either a high school diploma or GED plus five years of related experience and age 25 or older, or an associate degree or higher and age 21 or older.
