The Resident Advisor, Markus Gardens Young Adult Program role is onsite in Jamaica, NY, with a part-time schedule of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Pay is $23.65 per hour. The role serves participants ages 18–24 in a 16-bed, Office of Mental Health-licensed program. The Resident Advisor provides direct support and training in daily living skills, health and hygiene, budgeting, socialization, and conflict resolution. The role also documents services and significant events, monitors medication self-administration according to program policy, and supports participant safety and individualized needs.

What you'll do

• Train participants in meal planning and preparation, maintaining living spaces, personal hygiene, budgeting, and money management
• assess and support health and hygiene
• monitor and document medication self-administration according to program policy
• inspect apartments and report maintenance issues
• assist with groups and recreational activities
• administer standardized health screening tools
• alert supervisors to incidents and high-risk behaviors
• provide individualized support and conflict resolution
• document services and events
• train participants in safety procedures and conduct fire drills and self-preservation tests.
