What you'll do

  • Fabricate material-coated optical fiber sensors for gas sensing
  • simulate optical fiber interferometers using finite element analysis software such as COMSOL
  • modify thin films and sensing materials for sensitive and selective operation in challenging conditions
  • collaborate on sensor devices for gas, corrosion, and pipeline environmental factors
  • plan and participate in field demonstrations
  • document and communicate results through manuscripts, reports, and presentations.
