Residential Chief Engineer

Job overview

The Residential Chief Engineer role is onsite in Alexandria, VA; compensation is $41–$43 per hour based on experience. The working supervisor oversees the Assistant Chief Engineer and Building Engineer and reports to the Property Manager. The role maintains safe, reliable building operations by overseeing mechanical and electrical systems, performing and coordinating maintenance and repairs, and responding to tenant service requests. It also leads safety and emergency-response activities and oversees contractors to support tenant satisfaction and prevent operational downtime.

What you'll do

• Oversee the Assistant Chief Engineer and Building Engineer
• operate, maintain, and repair boiler and auxiliary equipment and building systems
• troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• manage building and energy management systems
• complete tenant service requests
• maintain logs and perform preventive maintenance
• participate in emergency response and safety training
• oversee contractors
• review condo-owner plans for building-code compliance.
