Fitness Equipment Technician

The Fitness Equipment Technician role is onsite in Cordova, TN, supporting YMCA of Memphis & The Mid-South facilities. Compensation is not specified. The position supports the YMCA’s work to strengthen communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The technician inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs fitness equipment to help provide a safe, operational environment for members and staff. The role also manages preventive-maintenance records, coordinates vendor service, supports equipment installation and facility operations, and trains wellness staff and leaders on maintenance procedures.

What you'll do

• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on cardio and strength equipment
• diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues
• repair or replace defective parts
• calibrate equipment
• respond to service requests
• maintain schedules, logs, and safety records
• coordinate vendor installation, repairs, and warranty service
• maintain parts and tool inventory
• support equipment installation, relocation, and removal
• communicate downtime and repair timelines
• train wellness staff and leadership on preventive maintenance.
