Job overview

The Controller role is hybrid, with work locations in Saginaw and Lansing, Michigan; regular travel to the Saginaw main site is important during the first 6–12 months. Compensation is not specified. The role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and supports Allen Supply’s growing, multi-location distribution business. The Controller leads day-to-day accounting operations and builds finance processes and systems to support growth and acquisitions. The role oversees close and reporting, inventory accounting, cash and lender reporting, acquisition integration, and implementation of a common enterprise resource planning system.

What you'll do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close
• prepare consolidated financial statements and reporting packages
• serve as the main contact for the annual external audit
• maintain GAAP-compliant financials and documented controls
• oversee inventory accounting and margin analysis
• lead accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing through local staff
• manage cash, cash forecasting, liquidity planning, and lender reporting
• support acquisition diligence and accounting integration
• lead ERP selection and implementation
• build scalable processes and partner with branch and operations leaders.
