What you'll do

• Examine vision and ocular pathways
• monitor ocular health for systemic conditions
• obtain patient histories
• perform diagnostic testing and interpret results
• conduct refractions
• manage fitting, ordering, and dispensing of eyeglasses and contact lenses
• advise patients
• make referrals and document care
• direct dispensing opticians and clerical staff.
