The Assistant Site Lead – Flight Test Operations role is onsite in Half Moon Bay, CA. The starting cash range is $109,000–$155,000 per year. Zipline operates an autonomous drone delivery system that delivers food, medicine, and other essential goods. The assistant site lead partners with the Site Lead to run the flight test facility, lead the Ground Test Operator team, and improve safe, repeatable aircraft testing. The role coordinates daily readiness and execution while escalating safety concerns and decisions outside established procedures.

What you'll do

• Lead daily flight test operations, briefings, readiness checks, and safe test execution
• hire, onboard, coach, and develop Ground Test Operators
• coordinate facilities, equipment, and operational needs
• partner with engineering, safety, maintenance, and manufacturing on test campaigns
• improve procedures and workflows
• act as Site Lead when needed
• represent Flight Test Operations during facility visits.
