Field Project Engineer — Water and Wastewater

The Field Project Engineer role is onsite in Sacramento, CA, with a stated salary range of $77,000–$92,000 per year. The role supports Hazen and Sawyer’s water and wastewater infrastructure projects and its client service work in water. The engineer assists the Resident Engineer with construction management, coordination, and inspection of water and wastewater facilities. The work helps project teams track construction progress, document compliance with contract requirements, and coordinate communication among contractors, designers, owners, and stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Review project specifications and drawings
• provide document control
• assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
• maintain change order logs
• help prepare meeting agendas and records
• coordinate communication among contractors, design engineers, stakeholders, and owners
• inspect contractor operations for contract compliance
• prepare sketches, data, and daily and weekly reports
• use project documentation software such as PROCORE
• support other construction management activities as needed.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field and at least three years of relevant construction management, inspection, or design experience. Travel within the area may be required; PE, CCM, CMIT, EIT, and OSHA-10 are listed as preferred or a plus.
