The Spiritual Care Counselor / Chaplain, Hospice PRN role is onsite in Renton, WA, serving the King County coverage area; it is not remote or virtual. Pay is $25–$40 per hour, with hours that can vary. The role supports AccentCare’s hospice patients and families through compassionate, collaborative care. The counselor assesses spiritual needs, supports patients and families through anticipatory grief and bereavement, and connects them with their faith communities and spiritual caregivers. The role helps patients and families draw on identified sources of strength and support during terminal illness and loss.

What you'll do

• Support families and communities through anticipatory grief and post-death bereavement
• complete spiritual needs assessments for hospice patients and families of choice
• serve as liaison to the patient’s and family’s community of faith
• respond to patient and family needs
• support clergy and other spiritual caregivers in relation to patients’ terminal illness
• build caring relationships and help people draw on identified strengths and support.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree, ordination or recognized religious credential, and three Clinical Pastoral Education units from ACPE or accepted equivalency; hospice experience preferred.
