Senior Lead Engineer, Platform Engineering and Cloud Resilience

The Senior Lead Engineer, Platform Engineering and Cloud Resilience role is onsite in Portland, OR. Base salary is $160,000–$180,000 per year, plus early equity. Sapience AI builds a collective intelligence platform that helps professional communities find and use expertise across their systems. The role owns platform and cloud operations, leads platform engineers, and manages the path from code changes to production. It strengthens reliability and readiness through operational processes, Terraform standards, on-call coverage, incident response, and collaboration with architecture, security, data, and engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Lead platform engineers
• own merge-to-production processes, reviews, deployment dispatches, rollbacks, and automated quality and security gates
• operate Google Cloud environments and maintain dashboards and audit trails
• operate and improve Terraform provisioning standards
• design and participate in the on-call rotation
• own SLOs, runbooks, incident response, postmortems, and readiness gates
• partner with the Cloud Architect on operational input
• assist with support intake, response targets, hiring, runbooks, and knowledge-base structure.
