Registered Nurse First Assistant, Perioperative Surgery

What you'll do

• Provide perioperative nursing care
• assist the surgeon within the RNFA scope of practice
• assess patients and develop care plans
• monitor patient condition
• administer medications and treatments
• perform surgical assisting techniques including tissue handling, exposure, hemostasis, wound closure, suturing, positioning, prepping, and draping
• document care
• educate patients and families
• follow infection prevention and sterile technique
• assist with staff orientation and mentoring.

Why this role

Requires an accredited nursing degree, completion of an approved RNFA program, at least three years of scrub and circulating experience in an acute-care operating room, an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, CNOR, and professional liability insurance. PALS is preferred.
