The Property Management Intern — Summer 2027 role is fully in person in Fairfax, VA, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; occasional weekend work may occur, and hours will not exceed 40 per week. Compensation is $15 per hour. Van Metre’s eight-week internship begins in the first week of June 2027 and runs through early August, providing exposure to residential and commercial property operations. Under the direction of the Director of Training and Development, the intern supports property marketing, leasing, resident services, and administrative work while learning about property accounting, valuation, and commercial property operations. The program also includes training and opportunities to meet employees across departments and divisions.

What you'll do

• Support marketing outreach to increase property traffic, leads, and occupancy
• process lease applications and prepare renewals
• provide property tours and follow up on leads
• assist with resident events, open houses, administrative duties, collections, move-outs, and inspections
• support commercial property tasks including invoice organization, lease files, purchase orders, utility tracking, financial reporting, site walks, and property website audits.
