Universal Pre-Kindergarten / Head Start Teacher is an onsite role in Troy, NY. Pay is $28 per hour for 35 hours per week on a 10-month schedule from September through June, following the Troy City School District calendar. The role supports the Commission on Economic Opportunity’s Early Head Start/Head Start program serving children and families in Rensselaer County. The teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate learning for children ages 3–4, supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. The role also builds partnerships with families and coordinates with assistants and service providers to support learning across home and school.
What you'll do
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum
- use positive guidance strategies
- build professional relationships with staff and families
- collaborate with teacher assistants and service providers
- conduct two home visits and two parent-teacher conferences each year as applicable for Head Start children
- complete attendance, health logs, lesson plans, individualization goals, records, and assessments
- use daily routines to promote learning and conversation.

Why this role
