Parent Advocate

The Parent Advocate role is an onsite, full-time position in Jamaica, NY, with pay of $30.21 per hour. The Children’s Village works with parents whose children are in foster care, supporting family well-being and permanency. The advocate draws on lived experience with child welfare involvement to guide and coach parents as they navigate services, make informed decisions, address challenges, and work toward reunification in collaboration with case planners.

What you'll do

• Build authentic connections with parents whose children are in foster care
• provide supportive guidance and coaching as parents navigate housing, education, HRA, medical, and mental health systems
• help parents make informed decisions and address challenges toward reunification
• bring lived experience into the agency’s decision-making process
• collaborate with case planners to promote family well-being and permanency.
