The operator supports construction and engineering work by operating and maintaining heavy equipment at the work site. The role contributes to safe and successful project execution by inspecting equipment, identifying hazards, performing routine maintenance and minor repairs, and coordinating equipment movements with other staff. It also includes road work, excavation, and lifting work.

What you'll do

• Inspect equipment before and after use
• check hydraulic hoses for leaks and document damage or wear
• keep equipment free of debris
• fuel equipment and log fuel use
• inspect work areas for hazards and underground pipelines
• notify supervisors of maintenance needs
• operate cranes, earth movers, bulldozers, front-end loaders, and related equipment
• perform routine safety and maintenance checks and minor repairs
• report major repair needs
• coordinate with staff and follow safety procedures and work-site or traffic laws.
