The Lifeguard role is onsite in Mercer Island, WA. Pay is $18–$26 per hour, based on experience. The position supports the SJCC Aquatics Team and its community-centered work to provide a safe, welcoming aquatic environment. The lifeguard maintains active surveillance, enforces pool safety rules, responds to emergencies within current training and certification, and supports scheduled aquatic programs. The role also helps keep aquatic spaces and operations safe and organized for members, guests, and program participants.

What you'll do

• Maintain continuous surveillance of assigned areas
• enforce pool and facility rules and safety protocols
• respond to aquatic and facility emergencies, including water rescues and First Aid, CPR/AED, and other care within current training and certification
• follow emergency action and evacuation procedures
• complete incident, rescue, water-quality, patron-count, and other documentation
• assist members and guests
• support scheduled aquatic programs and transitions
• report hazards and water-quality concerns
• complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, equipment, and facility-upkeep tasks
• attend required meetings, training, drills, and assessments.
