The Mass Properties Engineer – Spacecraft Engineering is an onsite role in Palo Alto, CA, with a base salary range of $82,000–$136,000 annually. The role joins an established spacecraft engineering team. The engineer estimates, manages, and verifies spacecraft and subsystem mass properties throughout the program lifecycle. By maintaining mass budgets and data, reviewing designs, and advising engineering teams, the role supports spacecraft design, build, test, assembly, integration, and launch preparation.

What you'll do

• Coordinate with lead, systems, and subsystem engineers to define allocated mass
• calculate spacecraft equipment and sequence mass properties
• determine mass budgets and prepare reports
• perform weighing and collect mass data
• generate and maintain mass-property database information
• review designs and reports for mass, center of gravity, moments of inertia, and products of inertia
• consult with subsystem engineering on mass control
• support Assembly Integration and Test and launch vehicle providers.
