The Health Educator I — Primary Care HIV PrEP Project role is onsite in Los Angeles, CA. Pay is $32.41–$33.78 per hour. The position supports Northeast Valley Health Corporation’s Primary Care HIV Prevention Project and reports to the HIV Program Manager II and HIV Programs Administrator. The educator implements grant deliverables, uses a validated HIV risk-screening tool to identify patients who may benefit from PrEP, and develops outreach to engage potential clients. The role also trains providers and clinical support staff and supports program data collection and reporting to advance HIV prevention services.

What you'll do

• Use a validated HIV risk-screening tool to identify patients in need of PrEP
• develop and implement in-reach and outreach campaigns
• facilitate PrEP training for providers and clinical support staff
• support collection of program metrics and preparation of reports
• participate in community outreach events, including Pride celebrations and health fairs, to recruit potential PrEP clients.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in public health or a related field, two years of experience working with LGBTQ+ populations in HIV prevention, fluency in English and Spanish, and a current California driver’s license with acceptable insurance. Evening and weekend availability is required for outreach events.
